I moved into Tessera of Brandon’s new “assisted living” facility in April 2018. I had always lived in a single-family home with my husband and children. My children married and after my husband died 34 years ago, I sold my home for a smaller home, which I felt I could more easily maintain. This house also proved to be more than I could properly maintain. The best decision I could have made was moving into Tessera of Brandon. This assisted living community is light and clean, beautifully designed, and staffed with the friendliest personnel. I am amazed at the short time before every one of them, with whom we have contact, knew every resident’s first and last names. Every employee is eager to help us or answer any questions we have.

The outside gardens are beautifully completed with walking paths, many outdoor seating locations and an area for “cook outs” and picnics. Tessera personnel has beautifully and appropriately decorated our main lobby for all major holidays, since our community opened. Family members of the residents have been involved making the holiday an exciting event for all of us residents.

Our chef provides outstandingly healthy meals using healthy organically grown fresh vegetables and fruits. Presentation of the food on our plates are attractively displayed and served hot by extremely pleasant waitresses. They are always helpful to those of us who are unable to cut meat or handle our liquid drinks. The entire kitchen crew, including our chef, has made the time to meet each diner, get to know us and allow us to learn about them.

The maintenance men are eager to assist the residents with any job to complete their “move-in.” The nurses and aides who work in our “wellness center” are friendly and will answer our medical questions. They can administer medicine to those who are unable to prepare their pills etc. I am so favorably impressed with the love and kindness they show while assisting elderly patients.

The housekeeping personnel are hardworking, but always have time to learn exactly what we like to have done towards cleaning our apartments. The trash is emptied from each apartment every day, as frequently as needed. The bathrooms are spotless and odor free. Each house keeper “checks” on us as they complete their work, to make sure we are not ill or having any unusual problem, these crew members are friendly and work together as a team, with a sweet spirit and loving attitude.

The smiling faces and friendly attitudes of the working staff is reflected by the elderly residents causing a loving and pleasant daily environment. The management personnel of our community have been appropriately employed because of their qualifications and eagerness to do an “above average” job. We are all treated as family members and made to feel at home here. I’m happy to have made the choice to make this my home.
